Taking the Plunge

Happy Friday Everyone!

I realize I haven't been writing as much lately and there have been several good reasons for this. One big reason is that I've been investing a lot of time and effort in product development. Not only have I been improving my current line of home decor items, I have also been developing concepts and designs for a new etsy site that will focus on green personal accessories. Without any further ado I give you GreenPockets.etsy.com!

So far I have only listed reusable (and fashionable...and GREEN) coffee sleeves. The site will not be this way forever as I am working on a complete line of accessories (bags, jewelry, etc.) that will be green in a variety of ways. Keep checking back to my Green Pockets site in the weeks to come for new products and new ways to be fashionably green.

Also, check back next week for details on how to enter my first giveaway EVER!!!!

Have a happy weekend!

Artist Profile: Nikki Heidemann

1. Where are you from originally?
New Jersey...Atlantic City

2. Where do you get your creative inspiration?
Honestly it comes to me when I'm sleeping. In dreams

3. How long have you been dancing?
Since I was 6, sooo...22 years.

4. Do you have a favorite type of dance you enjoy? What about a favorite type of music?
My favorite type is hip-hop & lyrical. I love all music, classical to country, rap to 80's rock! :)

5. Who are your creative mentors?
Oh brother...um, Jesus! It used to be my dance teachers, but when I stopped taking classes I really had to rely on God.

6. What do you enjoy doing when you're not dancing?
Reading, scrap-booking, hanging with friends, throwing parties

7. Would you say your environment (where you live, work, play) influences your creative process? If so, how?
Not really. Like I said most of the time I dream up the choreography while I'm sleeping.

8. What does your creative process entail?
Sleep...:)

9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Oh goodness. I would have to say wherever it is, it will be where God wants me to be...

Update

Hello everyone! Someone asked me today why I've not posted an artist profile yet this week. Instead of answering her I said nothing and ran awkwardly away to my computer to give a general blog update.

I am working on being more organized with artist profiles. Instead of waiting until the last minute to pull something together (like I've been doing) I'm trying to plan these profiles more in advance. Unfortunately this means it will be another week or two until I'll have another profile ready. (As a side note, if you know an artist who you would like to see featured, please send along their info and I'll do what I can.)

The winning fabrics will be announced tomorrow! Given that many of you left first and second place choices I've gone over the results again and again trying to weigh each vote properly. As a result, I've decided to buy more options than just one per color category. I'll explain each of my fabric choices in tomorrow's post.
